Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manufacturing Support Technician with experience in electronics manufacturing to support production, improve processes, and maintain accurate technical documentation. This role will focus on PCB/PCBA assemblies, electro-mechanical products, and high-reliability manufacturing environments. The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in SOP development, BOM structuring, ECO implementation, and continuous process improvement within an electronics production setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, validate, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for PCB assembly, testing, and electro-mechanical builds
  • Create and manage multi-level Bills of Materials (BOMs) for electronic assemblies, ensuring alignment with design and production requirements
  • Initiate, track, and implement Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), including revision control and documentation updates
  • Provide hands-on support for SMT (Surface Mount Technology) and through-hole assembly processes
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing issues related to soldering defects, component placement, test failures, and equipment performance
  • Drive process improvement initiatives to increase yield, reduce rework/scrap, and improve cycle time
  • Collaborate with engineering (EE/ME), quality, and supply chain teams on NPI (New Product Introduction) and product transfers
  • Support and optimize functional testing, ICT (In-Circuit Testing), and final test processes
  • Analyze production data (yield, defects, downtime) and implement corrective actions
  • Ensure compliance with IPC standards (e.g., IPC-A-610, J-STD-001) and quality systems
  • Train and mentor technicians and operators on electronics assembly best practices

Qualifications
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in electronics manufacturing or EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services) environment
  • Strong experience with SOPs, BOMs, and ECO processes
  • Hands-on knowledge of PCB assembly, SMT processes, reflow ovens, pick-and-place machines, and soldering techniques
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar)
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, and Gerber files
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • IPC certification (e.g., IPC-A-610, J-STD-001)
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Kaizen methodologies
  • Familiarity with AOI (Automated Optical Inspection), X-ray inspection, and test fixtures
  • Experience in high-reliability industries (aerospace, medical devices, automotive electronics)
