JOB FUNCTION:
The Quality Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the Quality Engineering team to ensure product and process quality meet or exceed internal standards and external customer expectations. This role oversees quality initiatives across the organization, ensures compliance with industry standards, and fosters a culture of continuous improvement. The manager will interface with customers, cross-functional departments, and executive leadership to resolve quality issues, implement best practices, and support long-term quality strategy.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Quality Engineers to achieve departmental and company objectives.
Oversee the investigation and resolution of quality issues, ensuring timely implementation of effective corrective and preventive actions.
Ensure compliance with company quality standards, ISO 9001 requirements, and customer-specific requirements.
Manage customer quality interactions, including audits, complaints, and reporting, maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
Lead internal audit programs, quality system reviews, and risk assessments to ensure ongoing compliance and continuous improvement.
Drive root cause analysis, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and process capability studies to enhance product reliability.
Analyze quality data and trends; prepare and present comprehensive reports to internal stakeholders and customers.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, etc.) to integrate quality into product development and operational processes.
Manage departmental resources, including budgeting, staffing, and training.
Champion continuous improvement initiatives using tools such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
A bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline is required.
Advanced degree or certifications (e.g., CQE, Six Sigma, Lean, ISO Lead Auditor) preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in Quality Engineering, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
Experience in a manufacturing, electronics, or regulated industry is strongly preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong leadership and team development skills.
Proven success in driving quality improvement and resolving complex quality issues.
Expert knowledge of ISO 9001, IPC-A-610, FMEA, SPC, and other quality methodologies.
Effective communication skills for interfacing with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and decision-making abilities.
