A Warehouse Shipping Supervisor oversees the daily outbound logistics and fulfillment operations of a facility. They manage shipping staff, coordinate the accurate picking, packing, and dispatching of orders, enforce strict safety and quality standards, and utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to meet strict delivery KPIs.

- Order Fulfillment: Direct the daily workflow of picking, packing, and staging orders to ensure on-time and accurate customer deliveries.
- Team Leadership: Manage, train, and schedule warehouse staff. Conduct performance reviews, delegate tasks, and motivate the team to achieve daily operational goals.
- Logistics Coordination: Collaborate with freight carriers, sales teams, and customer service to route shipments and resolve any delivery discrepancies or delays.
- Quality Control: Ensure products are properly packaged, labeled, and match the corresponding bills of lading (BOL) or packing slips before leaving the dock.]
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce workplace safety protocols (e.g., OSHA regulations, forklift certifications) and conduct regular safety meetings.
- Metrics & Reporting: Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) like order accuracy, shipping costs, and labor productivity, reporting results to upper management.
Essential Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Typically 3+ years of progressive warehouse or logistics experience, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role.
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management or business is highly desirable for many roles.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software (e.g., SAP, Oracle), and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Physical & Environmental Demands: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects (typically up to (50) lbs), and work in varied warehouse environments.
