The EHS Manager will manage, create, implement, and continuously improve organizational programs to ensure the health and safety of the facility and its employees and compliance with all relevant regulatory agencies (OSHA. EPA, TCEQ). The EHS Manager will implement environmental, safety systems and programs for a startup operation and collaborate closely with Plant Managers, Human Resource Managers, and other stakeholders across the company to create organizational positive change Main tasks:
Manage the company's environment to include- waste management, health and safety, and fire protection
Develop and maintain EHS policies, systems, procedures and programs for environmental and safety of the facility as this is a new operation
Manage a team of engineers and technicians
Monitoring and keeping up-to-date occupational health and safety regulations and related documents
Extensive knowledge of OSHA and environmental standards.
Monitor and ensure facility compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (OSHA, EPA, TCEQ).
Knowledge and compliance with relevant legislation and other requirements, preparation of the conditions necessary for compliance in case of changes
Ensure operation according to ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 systems, active participation in the successful conduct of audits
Responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating physical, chemical, and operational hazards
Supervision and coordination of official license procedures
Preparation of annual reports
Coordination of periodic fire safety inspections
Coordination of periodic Lifting-Equipments inspection
Investigation of incidents, root cause analysis, implement of corrective measures,
Preparation and implementation of annual accident prevention, fire prevention, health protection and environmental protection plans
Checking the occupational safety compliance and use of work tools, machines and equipment, conducting commissioning procedures.
Effective cooperation with other departments
Preparation of annual reports and statements
Requirement:
Advanced degree – safety and/or fire safety and/or environment10+ of Experience in EHS.
5 years' experience in manufacturing,
Must have Strong knowledge working with federal, state, and local regulations (OSHA, EPA, TCEQ)
Process OSHA Form 300A (Annual Summary)
Must have strong knowledge and experience with ISO- 45001, 14001
Must have waste management's, disposal experience
Project startup experience a plus
Experience in risk management
Experience managing people
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Advantage but not a requirement
Auditor certification (ISO 14001:2015 / ISO 45001:2018)
Experience dealing with government agencies.
Please note this is a manufacturing environment that operates 24/7. Your presence on the floor will be consistently required. This is not a desk position.
