Oversees a company's stock levels, tracking incoming and outgoing goods to maximize supply chain efficiency, prevent product shortages, and minimize shrinkage. They are the critical link between procurement, warehousing, and sales departments.

- Inventory Tracking: Maintain accurate, real-time stock records across Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Cycle Counting: Design and execute routine physical counts of warehouse inventory to audit stock accuracy.
- Dispute Resolution: Investigate variances and reconcile discrepancies between recorded stock and actual physical counts.
- Procurement & Restocking: Monitor reorder points and assist in expediting materials or creating restock requests to meet demand.
- Quality Assurance: Process returns, identify defective or damaged goods, and quarantine obsolete or expired items.
- Reporting: Generate inventory reports on stock turnover rates, shrinkage, and warehouse efficiency to inform upper management.
- System Proficiency: Strong command of inventory tracking software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Blue Yonder) and Microsoft Excel.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, identify discrepancies, and forecast inventory needs based on lead times and demand patterns.
- Organization & Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accurate data entry and physical organization of warehouse space.
- Communication: Excellent cross-departmental communication to collaborate smoothly with production, procurement, and customer service teams.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate's or bachelor's degree in supply chain management or business is often preferred for managerial roles.
- Experience: Typically requires 1 to 3+ years of warehouse, manufacturing, or logistics experience. Industry certifications such as CSCP or CPIM through ASCM can provide a competitive edge.
