Position Summary

The HR Generalist plays a critical role in supporting the organization’s human resources operations. This position is responsible for administering payroll and benefits, ensuring compliance with federal and state employment laws, and supporting employees across a wide range of HR functions. The HR Generalist will work extensively with ADP Workforce Now for payroll and benefits administration and will oversee ACA compliance reporting. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of HR experience, strong technical knowledge of ADP Workforce Now, and is bilingual, with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse employees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Payroll Administration
  • Process biweekly/semimonthly payroll using ADP Workforce Now with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Audit payroll reports, reconcile discrepancies, and resolve payroll-related issues.
  • Maintain accurate employee data in ADP, including new hires, terminations, promotions, and pay changes.
  • Ensure payroll compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Prepare payroll-related reports for Finance and management.
Benefits Administration
  • Administer employee benefits programs including health, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, 401(k), and other offerings.
  • Coordinate open enrollment, benefits changes, and new hire enrollments.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between employees and benefits providers.
  • Assist employees with benefits questions, claims, and issue resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with ERISA, COBRA, and other applicable laws.
Compliance and ACA Reporting
  • Prepare and submit ACA reporting (1094/1095 forms) and ensure ongoing ACA compliance.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Assist with audits and maintain accurate HR documentation.
  • Support EEO, FMLA, ADA, and other regulatory requirements.
HR Operations and Employee Support
  • Provide day-to-day HR support to employees and managers.
  • Assist with employee relations, investigations, and conflict resolution.
  • Support onboarding, orientation, and offboarding processes.
  • Maintain HRIS data integrity and produce HR metrics and reports.
  • Assist with performance management and training initiatives.
  • Participate in HR projects and process improvements.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 3–5 years of progressive HR Generalist experience, with a focus on payroll and benefits.
  • Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now required.
  • Strong knowledge of ACA compliance, reporting, and requirements.
  • Prior experience in a bilingual HR support role strongly preferred.
Skills & Abilities
  • Bilingual: Fluent in English, with proficiency in Chinese (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of payroll, benefits, and HR compliance requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • High level of confidentiality, integrity, and professionalism.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
