Summary
The Production Planner is responsible for planning and coordinating production schedules, customer orders, and shipping activities to ensure products are delivered on time and in accordance with customer requirements. Acting as the primary liaison between customers and internal departments, this role supports efficient production planning, effective order management, and high levels of customer satisfaction while contributing to overall operational performance and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements while optimizing production capacity and resource utilization.
• Coordinate customer orders from receipt through production, shipment, and invoicing.
• Monitor production progress and adjust schedules in response to changes in demand, material availability, or operational priorities.
• Prepare and manage daily shipping schedules to ensure accurate and on-time deliveries.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding order status, delivery schedules, shipment updates, and related inquiries.
• Maintain accurate customer, order, and production data within company systems.
• Manage order backlogs, cancellations, and schedule changes, communicating impacts to customers and internal stakeholders.
• Monitor and report key performance indicators, including on-time delivery, shipment accuracy, backlog management, and customer-specific metrics.
• Prepare customer reports and maintain accurate documentation in accordance with business and contractual requirements.
• Collaborate with Production, Purchasing, Quality, Logistics, Sales, and other departments to ensure effective planning and execution.
• Identify opportunities to improve planning, scheduling, and operational processes to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to achieving departmental and organizational objectives.
Basic Qualifications
• Minimum of two years' experience in production planning, customer service, supply chain, manufacturing, or a related operational environment.
• Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Experience using SAP ERP for production planning, order management, inventory, or related business processes.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working with SAP S/4HANA in a manufacturing or supply chain environment.
• Knowledge of ERP/MRP planning systems and production scheduling.
Education and Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
