SUMMARY
The Sr. Electrical Engineer provides senior-level engineering leadership, design authority, and project oversight for all electrical systems across the organization's facilities. Serving as the principal technical expert in power distribution, high- and medium-voltage systems, emergency power, lighting, and building automation integration, this role drives compliance, safety excellence, and energy efficiency at an enterprise scale.
The Sr. Electrical Engineer will mentor junior engineers, leads cross-functional capital project teams, and acts as the strategic partner to Facilities leadership on infrastructure planning and investment decisions.

The Sr. Electrical Engineer will mentor junior engineers, leads cross-functional capital project teams, and acts as the strategic partner to Facilities leadership on infrastructure planning and investment decisions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide engineering design authority and technical review for all electrical project’s new construction, renovations, and capital improvements
- Lead load analysis, power distribution studies, short-circuit, coordination, and arc-flash studies per NFPA 70E and IEEE 1584
- Mentor and direct junior engineers and technical staff; conduct design reviews and approve engineering deliverables
- Manage electrical contractors and vendors: bid evaluation, scope negotiation, RFI/submittal review, and change-order management
- Oversee procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning of switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, and emergency generators
- Execute thermographic surveys, power quality studies, and reliability-centered maintenance programs; prioritize corrective actions
- Maintain and govern single-line diagrams, as-built drawings, equipment records, and CMMS data integrity
- Ensure full code compliance — NEC, NFPA, OSHA, IEEE — and lead AHJ permit coordination and inspection activities
- Own capital project budgets and schedules; deliver executive-level status reporting and risk assessments
- Champion energy efficiency programs: power factor correction, LED conversions, demand response, and renewable integration
- Serve as primary on-call technical authority for critical electrical outages, emergency response, and root-cause analysis
- Education Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited institution
- Experience 8+ years of progressive electrical engineering experience in industrial, commercial, or Healthcare
- Technical Expert-level proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, SKM PowerTools or ETAP; BAS/BMS platform integration experience
- Standards In-depth knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, NFPA 110, IEEE 1584, IEEE C2, and all applicable OSHA standards
- Leadership Proven ability to lead engineering teams, manage stakeholder expectations, and influence senior leadership decisions
- Demonstrated experience with medium-voltage (4kV–15kV) distribution systems and associated protective relaying schemes
- Background in mission-critical environments — data centers, or advanced manufacturing
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent enterprise PM experience
- Knowledge of EV charging infrastructure, energy storage systems, and sustainable design principles
- Experience presenting technical and capital investment recommendations to board-level audiences
