This position is to assist the facility Lead technician to provide support in the buildings, to keep up the support system including but not limited to bathrooms, break rooms, common areas, moniting contractors on projects and report back to the lead technician. all facility fit up/ renovations/alterations and servicing of furniture and facility related equipment, grounds keeping, move coordination by direction of the lead or supervisor, the understanding of OSHA safety, must be flexable on hours and days. Callouts to the facility can also be expected during off-hours. Overtime may be required on occasion.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Understanding of maintenance, facilities, interior, and exterior building components, responsible for completing work order activity to include: internally generated work requests and projects, this includes responding to and rectifying any facility maintenance requests, either by providing the maintenance and handyman services or utilizing contract services as required for maintaining building structure and services.
  • Performs regular facility inspections/audits, including all common areas and storage rooms, identifying any facility deficiencies.
  • Grounds keeping: trash removal: Maintenance on: vehicles, equipment, and tools.
  • Respond to: any bathroom- flooding, broken water pipes or fixtures, support equipment failures.
Education and work experience
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in Facility maintenance.
  • Able to organize and manage time effectively to accomplish tasks within stated or published deadlines.
  • Ensures the work assigned is completed within the set guidelines
  • Follows required FII and OSHA’s applicable safety procedures and ensures personal, public, and co-worker safety when completing tasks.
  • Maintain records, daily work sheets for record keeping.
  • Ensures that equipment, workspaces, and tools supplied by the company are used for their intended purposes and are maintained in safe working order.
  • Exercises respectful and courteous communication and interactions with co-workers, contractors, consultants, suppliers, and all other members of staff.
  • Manages own time effectively and ensures the immediate supervisor is kept informed of activities and progress of work.
  • Ensure regular work attendance and timely reporting for the start of the shift.
  • Carry out duties in a manner that ensures personal health and safety as well as the safety of others.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with minimum supervision.
  • Receptive to change, can adapt to changing circumstances, and make suggestions for improvement.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the Manager, Corporate Building Services, and the Building Operator.
  • Basic knowledge of the occupational hazards and corresponding safety precautions necessary for the safe performance of assigned duties.

Supervision

  • This position has several direct reports from Facilities crew members.

Working conditions

  • Office-based role, fast-paced work environment
  • This position must be able to respond to after-hour emergencies and be available to work non-core hours or overtime to complete various projects without interruption to operations.

Skills

  • An understanding of the electrical system.
  • Knowledge of A/C systems, compressed air systems, vacuum pumps, and BAS systems.
  • Must have their own hand tools; a list will be provided. Also needed item not provided, steel toe boots or OSHA approved safety shoes with hardened toe protection.
  • Manufacturing of products background is a plus.
