RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage all materials-related activities for assigned programs from NPI through full production lifecycle.
- Develop and implement material readiness plans to ensure alignment with customer requirements.
- Communicate material needs and updates clearly and effectively to internal stakeholders and external customers.
- Ensure on-time delivery of products and materials by actively managing supplier relationships.
- Monitor and control material costs to meet profitability targets.
- Manage excess and obsolete inventory following company policies.
- Prepare and communicate critical Materials updates at weekly Sustaining Executive Program reviews; High risk parts, how being strategic, risk buys, looks out 12-28 weeks ahead
- Manage consigned material deliveries in conjunction with build plan
- Work fluidly in a highly cross-functional team environment involving manufacturing, program management, product development teams, design engineers, supply chain, production control and logistics teams
- Coordinate and support material quotation activities to meet customer timelines and cost.
- Provide materials status updates to cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment across engineering, operations, and procurement.
- Oversee material pipelining strategies to support a seamless transition from NPI (New
- Product Introduction) to volume production.
- Support global supply chain transfers, particularly between San Jose and offshore
- production facilities.
- A bachelor’s degree in a technical or business field is required (MBA is a plus.)
- 7 to 10 years of experience in materials management or supplier management.
- APICS certification is desirable.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and team collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional environments and across global facilities.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management capabilities
