Job Summary
The Facilities Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design, operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of electrical infrastructure supporting high-tech electronics manufacturing operations. This role ensures reliable, efficient, and compliant electrical systems to support production uptime, safety, and future expansion. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in industrial power systems, strong problem-solving skills, and experience in mission-critical manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, installation, and commissioning of electrical systems including medium- and low-voltage distribution, transformers, switchgear, UPS systems, and backup generators.
  • Ensure maximum uptime and reliability of electrical infrastructure supporting production equipment, cleanrooms, labs, and office facilities.
  • Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs for all electrical systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex electrical issues impacting manufacturing operations, minimizing downtime.
  • Manage power quality, load balancing, and energy efficiency initiatives.
  • Support facility expansion, capacity upgrades, and new production line installations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, EHS, and equipment engineering to meet operational requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., NEC, NFPA, OSHA).
  • Lead risk assessments, arc flash studies, and electrical safety programs.
  • Manage contractors, vendors, and service providers for electrical projects and maintenance.
  • Develop and maintain documentation including single-line diagrams, procedures, and specifications.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, sustainability, and system reliability.

Qualifications
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
Experience:
  • 8+ years of experience in electrical engineering within high-tech manufacturing (electronics, semiconductor, or similar industries).
  • Proven experience with industrial power systems, including medium voltage (e.g., 12kV–35kV).
  • Experience supporting mission-critical or 24/7 manufacturing environments.

Technical Skills
  • Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems, switchgear, transformers, and protection systems.
  • Experience with UPS systems, generators, and emergency power systems.
  • Familiarity with SCADA, BMS, or electrical monitoring systems.
  • Proficiency in power system analysis tools (e.g., ETAP, SKM).
  • Deep understanding of electrical safety standards and arc flash mitigation.
  • Knowledge of cleanroom and high-reliability facility requirements is a plus.

Soft Skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead projects and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Working Conditions
  • May require on-call support for critical systems.

  • Occasional travel may be required for vendor support or project execution.
